Throughout 2022, the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) celebrates 75 years of providing exemplary modern industrial engineering education for undergraduate and graduate UT Volunteers. We hope that this look back on 75 years of success serves as a rallying point for another 75 years and beyond.
Engineering programs at UT began overall in 1888 and Charles Edward Ferris, the college’s first dean, founded the industrial engineering department in 1947. ISE moved into its home on the fifth floor of the John D. Tickle Engineering Building in 2013. Department Head John Kobza leads ISE in maintaining traditions of quality, innovative engineering education, research, and service.
